Supreme Court seeks explanation from Union Home Secretary, Delhi Police Commissioner and DMRC chair for defying Oct 9 order on metro closures
The Supreme Court on Sunday found a prima facie case of contempt over alleged violation of its October 9 order against a complete shutdown of public transport, after entry gates at 45 metro stations stayed shut during the October 10 protests. A bench of Justices Joymalya Bagchi and V Mohana issued notice to Union Home Secretary Govind Mohan, Delhi Police Commissioner Anurag Kumar and DMRC chairperson D Thara, directing them to file counter-affidavits and a compliance report by October 13 while dispensing with their personal appearance for now.
