Supreme Court: refusal to marry is not abetment of suicide

The Supreme Court has ruled that refusing to marry, or ending a live-in relationship, cannot by itself amount to abetment of suicide, quashing proceedings against six accused in a Telangana case. The bench of Justices Pardiwala and Chandran held there was no evidence the accused intended to drive the woman to suicide, even taking the prosecution's allegations as true. (ruled)
