SC warns states over silence on menstrual-hygiene ruling

A bench of Justices J.B. Pardiwala and R. Mahadevan gave states and Union territories one last opportunity to report, in writing, what they have done to implement the January 30 judgment that made menstrual hygiene a facet of the right to life under Article 21 (Daily Excelsior). The court warned that if the Centre still hears nothing from some of them when the matter comes back on December 14, it will issue contempt notices to the chief secretaries concerned.
