SC: auctions can be cancelled for better price before allotment
The Supreme Court upheld the Chandigarh Administration's cancellation of Bedi Hospital's ₹12.58 crore bid for a Sector 33C nursing-home site, holding a public authority can revisit an auction before the allotment letter and conveyance deed are issued to get a better price for public property (report). It ordered a fresh e-auction of Site 4 within three months under the Chandigarh Estate Rules, 2007. (Freepressjournal)
