Bombay HC fines two lawyers Rs 52,000 each for threatening a judge
A bench of Justices Urmila Joshi Phalke and Raj D Wakode held two advocates guilty of criminal contempt after finding that their threats to a judicial officer at Arni in Yavatmal district were made to 'pressurise and terrorise' him. The court spared them imprisonment, fining each Rs 2,000 and referring both to the Bar Council of Maharashtra and Goa's disciplinary committee. (The Indian Express)
